A faculty member heralds One-Belt One-Road and Islamic communication

Turkey occupies a strategic location between the East and the West along the path of China’s endeavour of One-Belt One-Road, a Journalism Department member, Senior Lecturer Shih Chien Yu, paid a two-week visit to Istanbul and Ankara to delivery seminar papers on the understanding of China, Chinese politics and Sino-Turkish relations at six academic institutions, substantiating the quest for Islamic communication in the context of changing paradigms of world order.

During his visit over the Easter holiday, 2018, Senior Lecturer Shih Chien Yu got an impression that his Turkish counterparts did not know much about China and the Chinese influence to date. Such reality therefore indicates a need to explore the dynamic of Islamic journalism and communication. Mr. Shih is currently running a new course on “new silk road and creative communication”.
