Cultural Bridge: A Journey of Cultural and Artistic Exchange in Croatia under the Belt and Road Initiative Recruitment of Participants

This event is funded by the “International Youth Exchange Funding Scheme” of the Youth Development Commission.

😍 Let’s step into the most beautiful country in the Balkans—Croatia, and explore a wonderful land where history, art, culture, and nature intertwine!

🌟 Highlights of the Exchange:

  • Stroll through Zagreb, the capital of Croatia, visit local top universities, tour the Chinese embassy, and listen to stories from overseas;
  • Collaborate with Croatian artists to create artworks and hold a joint exhibition;
  • Experience the ancient coastal city of Šibenik, touching the marks of time, and investigate architecture and natural ecology!
  • Enjoy the most beautiful sunsets in Europe by the sea in Zadar while listening to the marvelous natural symphony of the “Sea Organ”!
  • Participate in passionate music exchanges, building bridges of friendship through melodies!
  • With Christmas approaching, personally experience the warmest Christmas markets in Europe and learn about local culture!

✔️ Pre-departure professional briefing to learn about the destination’s culture and itinerary arrangements.
✔️ Post-return sharing session to revisit the exciting results of the study tour and continue the friendships.

Recruitment Details:

  • Travel Dates: December 15 (Monday) – December 23 (Tue), 2025 ( 9 days)
  • Number of Participants: 30
  • Eligibility:
    • Participants must be Hong Kong youths aged between 18 and 35 on the day of departure.
    • Hold a valid Hong Kong permanent resident identity card or
    • Hold a valid Hong Kong resident identity card and be enrolled in a full-time program in Hong Kong, and
    • Have not participated in any other international exchange projects under this funding scheme in the current year.

Tour Fee: The Youth Development Commission funds 3/5 of the tour fee! Selected participants will need to pay approximately *$10,000 (about 40% of the total tour fee).

A special “Trial Scheme for Outbound Exchange Funding for Grassroots Youth” is available for students in need.

2025-26 Youth Development Commission International Youth Exchange Funding Scheme

“Trial Scheme for Outbound Exchange Funding for Grassroots Youth”
(a) The purpose is to further support grassroots youth participation in exchange projects funded by the “International Youth Exchange Funding Scheme” of the Youth Development Commission. The Home Affairs and Youth Affairs Bureau (YDC) has launched the “Trial Scheme for Outbound Exchange Funding for Grassroots Youth” (Trial Scheme) to provide additional funding to economically needy grassroots youth, ensuring that young people from different backgrounds can benefit from the exchange programs.
(b) Eligible participants must meet the following conditions:
(i) Young individuals receiving Comprehensive Social Security Assistance (CSSA); or
(ii) Students receiving full support under the “School Textbook Assistance Scheme” or tuition fee assistance under means-tested funding schemes from the Student Financial Assistance Agency.
(c) Covering Exchange Projects: Participants must pay for international exchange projects costing over HKD 3,000.
(d) Funding Amount: For participants whose costs exceed HKD 3,000, the remaining balance will be covered by additional funding provided by the YDC to eligible participants.
