]]> Students of J&C Department, led by Senior Lecturer Mr Tak Man Leung and Lecturer of Practice Mr Eddie Hong, visited FILMART 2019 on 22 March 2019.

Students from JAC and JCC programmes visited the privileged exhibition on the opening day. Through the visit and discussion with the participating experts and professionals, students learned more on the latest global trend of film and TV production. They also have a touch on the most advanced production kits for VR & VFX technologies.

FILMART, organized by Hong Kong Trade Development Council, is the largest marketplace in Asia for the entertainment industry, covering TV, digital entertainment, documentary, distribution, production, post-production, shooting locations, film & broadcasting equipment, film financing, etc.

FILMART is business-oriented and most of the visitors who are internationally renowned producers, distributors, investors and professionals use the event to launch promotions, network with key industry players and negotiate deals.

]]> A Journalism Department member, Assistant Professor Dr. Wendy Chan Wing Lam, attended a renowned communication conference at Salt Lake City held between 8 and 11 Nov 2018 and delivered a paper entitled “Analyzing the Antecedents of Journalistic Creativity: A Review of the Literature on Media Creativity and Look Beyond”.

National Communication Association (NCA) organizes an annual convention on communication and it is one of the world class and most influential conference of the field.

There are a number of sessions presented at NCA, including themes like story-telling, games, and they also provided the meditation sharing session with the participants.


Dr. Wendy Chan has attended a poster presentation session, where, scholars and presenters come and share their ideas on the research development of the topics.


NCA welcomes publishers, press or technology companies to set up booths at the conference in order to provide professional ideas and advice to the researchers.

]]> Advertising and Corporate Communication (JAC) Programme and Communication and Crossmedia (JCC) Programme of Department of Journalism and Communication have been zealously cherishing and supporting students to closely connect to the multimedia industry, and thus they become the academic partners of the 16 edition shnit Worldwide Short Film Festival.
Principal Lecturer Mr Poon Kam Chuen Felix, Senior Lecturer Mr Leung Tak Man and Part-time Lecturer Mr Ho Fung Pooh have been appointed members of shnit Advisory Committee.

The 16 Edition shnit film festival will be held on 18 – 22 October 2018. shnit was founded in Bern, Switzerland in 2003, bringing together more than 30,000 filmmakers and film lovers during the worldwide festival circuit.

Mr Ho Fung is also the Chairman of Hong Kong Film Art Association (HKFAA), established in 2004 as a charity group, which is one of Hong Kong’s largest academic organization with more than 350 member schools. HKFAA is the exclusive Organizing partner of shnit (HK) Playground.
