Over 2m Government Grant received for setting up a FOSS platform

Dr. Tracy Lee from the Department of Journalism and Communication and Mr. Duan Chenggui recently received a grant of over HK$ 2.1 million from the Quality Enhancement Support Scheme (QESS) under the Self-financing Post-secondary Education Fund of the Education Bureau. This two-year project, starting from 1 September 2018 to 31 August 2020, allows them to establish a community of practice for supporting the teaching staff and students of Chu Hai College of Higher Education, and possibly for other self-financing post-secondary sectors in Hong Kong, to effectively utilize free and open source software (FOSS) and other free tools to level up their digital literacy, to enrich their teaching and learning experience and simultaneously, to enhance their teaching and learning quality.
