[1] => On September 30, 2021, students enrolling for the course of News Anchoring & Programme Hosting were given a special session to learn how to apply make-up on their faces before appearing on screen in the TV Make-up Workshop organized by the Department of Journalism and Communication. The coach is Ms. Deborah Wong, an alumnus of Chu Hai College of Higher Education, and also the widow of the late renowned Film and TV Make-up artiste Mr. Chan Man Fai.

Chu Hai College held the Inter-school KOL Contest 2020 Awards Ceremony and congratulated to all the winners last Saturday.
Despite the contest was proceeding under the Covid-19 outbreak, the morale of the contestants and the quality of their works were highly regarded.
Miss Shing Sze Wai, Associate Director of Li Ka Shing School of Professional and Continuing Education and Dr Gary Harfitt, Principal of Good Hope Secondary School, were among the honourable guests who attended the award ceremony.
Mr David Ho Chung Yan, Programmes Advisor of RTHK and Mr Alex Chan Siu-bo, former boss of Universal Music Group (HK), presented the awards to the winners. They also gave precious advice about presenting and musical video production to all the contestants.
Chu Hai College thanked all the contestants, media sponsor AM730, co-organized institutions, honourable judges and teaching staff for their generous support. Because of their great efforts, the contest could be progressing successfully.
The Inter-school KOL Contest is co-organized by the Communication and Crossmedia Programme (JCC / UPAS Code: JSSC04) and Student Affairs Office of Chu Hai College. It is an annual competition aims to encourage secondary and tertiary school students to explore new techniques in multimedia presenting and production. The winners will be given cash awards and internship opportunities in D100 Internet Radio Station. The KOL Contest 2021 will kick off in September. Please follow our Facebook page for details.
DSE students can apply Year 1 admission through JUPAS (JUPAS Code: JSSC04), while Associate Degree and Higher diploma graduates can gain direct admission to Year 3 entry of our Communication and Crossmedia Programme (JCC).

A Bootcamp is being held by the Hong Kong Bureau of CNN at the campus of Chu Hai College of Higher Education (CHCHE) in Tuen Mun for the students of journalism and communication from June 7 to June 11, 2021.
Professor Chiu-kay Tang, Vice President (Academic) of CHCHE, and Mr. Roger Clark, VP and Bureau Chief of CNN Hong Kong, both officiated at the Opening Ceremony of the Bootcamp on Monday, June 7, 2021.
Mr. Roger Clark later delivered a talk to the students and the faculty staff of the Department of Journalism and Communication, CHCHE, on his own passion for the television journalism career and the role of CNN’s Hong Kong Bureau. He also talked about the challenges of covering regional news events in Asia amid the COVID-19 Pandemic.
Because of the current Pandemic, this Bootcamp is being held in a mixed mode of face-to-face, mainly for local students, and Zoom, for those students who could not come to Hong Kong due to COVID-19.
This bootcamp is part of the Master of Arts in Global Communication programme, which was launched by CHCHE’s Department of Journalism and Communication in September 2020. The Bootcamp was supposed to be held at the Headquarters of CNN in Atlanta, Georgia, USA as the concluding course of the whole Programme. Due to the COVID-19 Pandemic, both CNN and CHCHE were forced to change the venue of the Bootcamp to Hong Kong.
During the week-long event, the students has been given a tour to CNN’s newsroom and studio in Wong Chuk Hang on Hong Kong Island on the second day. They will also be briefed on CNN’s news setup in the Asian Region, the daily operations of newsgathering, digital operations in Hong Kong, news and features production, etc. The camp will be wrapped up with a talk on CNN anchoring and reporting by CNN’s anchor Anna Coren on the last day, Friday, 11 June, 2021.
The Master of Arts in Global Communication programme was the first in a series of Master’s programmes to be launched by the Department of Journalism and Communication, Chu Hai College of Higher Education (CHCHE). It is an interdisciplinary programme focusing on the global aspects of communication in the new media era. It is currently taking in application for admission from local and Mainland applicants for the coming academic year of 2021-22.

Film professionals explained to students how to execute and film an explosion scene at different settings, and the students got a valuable experience of observing a real explosion at scene.
AMP4 (The Association of Motion Picture Post Production Professionals), a strategy partner of the JCC programme,executed and filmed the scene for a project funded by CreateHK.
