Good News from Journalism & Communication | Bringing Learning from the Classroom to the Radio Studio

A radio program proposal written by Ms Shirley Cheung, Senior Lecturer in the Department of Journalism and Communication, has been successfully selected for the Community Involved Broadcasting Service (CIBS) organised by Radio Television Hong Kong (RTHK)!

Ms. Cheung will lead Journalism and Communication students in the planning and production of the Season 56 programme, Sing. Phone 破波的姐姐. This valuable opportunity enables students to gain hands-on experience in radio production and apply what they have learned in the classroom to a real-world media production environment. From program planning and content creation to production, students will develop valuable practical and professional experience.

The successful selection of the proposal not only recognises the program’s creative concept and planning, but also provides students with a valuable platform for professional practice. It further reflects the Department of Journalism and Communication’s commitment to “Learning by Doing” and practice-based education, bridging classroom learning with real-world media experience.

The program will be broadcast on RTHK. Stay tuned and join us in supporting the creative work of our Journalism and Communication students and faculty!
