As a lot of websites are blocked by the Chinese Government, non-mainland journalists attending the Two Sessions Conference this year made a frequent use of the Virtual Private Network (VPN) to browse their favorite websites and send urgent messages to their bosses.
The Two Sessions Conference held every year in Beijing is a world event, it therefore attracts thousands of reporters from all corners of the world. Unlike the press conference in Hong Kong, a Two Sessions translator always sits next to the chairperson in every major press conference such as NPC press release conference.
As observed, those translators spoke clear and accent-free Putonghua and English, and they translated word to word and sentence to sentence of what were spoken by the chairperson and reporters with the most accuracy of meaning in respect of the message context.
