A number of Journalism students and teaching staff attended an international workshop organized by the Education University of Hong Kong and Niigata Prefecture University, Japan, 9 March, 2018.
Senior lecturer Sherman Li was invited to be one of the panel discussants in the workshop on “How Peaceful is the Rise of China”. Dr. Carol Poon, Lecturer of the Open University of Hong Kong was one of the honourable panelists.
Chu Hai Journalism students were interested in all the topics discussed: Sino-Japanese political cultural differences presented by Dr. Uemura, Lecturer of Niitgata Prefecture University (NPU); the causation of the rise of China and its comprehensive national power presented by Professor Ng Ka-po of NPU; Buddhist exchanges and Cross Straits relationship presented by Dr. Chen Po-yu, Lecturer of NPU; the challenges and opportunities for Malaysia in OBOR presented by Dr. Alex Chua of the University of Macau.
