Profile

Dr. Tracy Lee’s academic and professional journey began with her undergraduate degree in Chinese and English-Chinese Translation from the University of Hong Kong. She then pursued a career in journalism before advancing her education with a Master’s degree in Communication Studies from Nanyang Technological University in Singapore and a Ph.D. from the Australian National University. Dr. Lee’s research focuses on gender identity and mass media in the context of China and Hong Kong, and her scholarly articles have been published in prestigious journals including The China Journal and Asian Studies Review. Currently, she is engaged in a project that examines the Hong Kong boyband Mirror and the masculinity they embody. Dr. Lee has acted as the Principal Investigator for two QESS grants and is also an accredited translator and interpreter.
