Recently, teachers and students from the Arts in Arts Tech and Digital Communication program at Hong Kong Chu Hai College immersed themselves in the charm of art and technology. On November 11, 2025, they visited Cyberport; on November 21, they attended Lam Yan-kit’s performance Pulse Pulse Pulse; and on November 26, they explored the creative space of Hong Kong’s Art & Technology Exhibition 3.0 — DING LAB. Together, these experiences provided a triple inspiration, offering a vivid understanding of their field.

Tradition Meets Innovation: Tech-Powered Traditional Culture
At Cyberport, tradition blended seamlessly with technology. The immersive Dunhuang Art Exhibition brought ancient murals to life, while ceramic-making videos showcased traditional craftsmanship. Cutting-edge innovations from resident tech firms highlighted Hong Kong’s vibrant tech energy, where heritage and digital trends interact in harmony.

Resonance with Pulse: Touching the Essence of Creation Through Rhythm and Light
Pulse Pulse Pulse broke the boundaries of traditional performance. “Pulse” refers not only to the beat of a heartbeat but also to the pulse of creativity. The show combined sound, light, and interactive design, making every audience member part of the performance. As light and shadow shifted with the atmosphere, it became clear that art is not a solitary expression but a deep resonance with others and the environment. This creative attitude—“not catering to trends nor compromising one’s vision”—aligns perfectly with the philosophy of Art-Tech: technology is a carrier, while human connection and emotional flow are the core vitality of a work. After the performance, teachers and students enthusiastically discussed the ingenuity of the interactive design, deeply impressed by the charm of this “open-ended creation.”
Delight at DING LAB: Witnessing the Artistic Expression of Technology
If Pulse Pulse Pulse was a “sensory immersion,” then Art & Technology Exhibition 3.0 — DING LAB was an “intellectual collision.” Hong Kong’s iconic ding ding trams, long symbols of urban memory, were transformed into tech-art carriers traveling between tradition and the future. When the familiar “ding ding” sound blended with electronic technology, century-old trams collided with cutting-edge innovation. This mobile exhibition reshaped our imagination of public transportation and integrated art and technology into the fabric of the city.
