(1) level 3 in Chinese Language;

Higher Diploma or Associate degree Entry

Accredited Associate Degree / Higher Diploma from local educational institutions for Senior Year Entry.

Equivalent qualifications will be considered on a case-by-case basis.

Mr. TING Hung Kay, Ben – Associate Professor of Practice

Programme Director of the BA in Criminology and Criminal Justice

Mr. Ting  holds a Bachelor of Arts and a Master of Science in Criminology from the University of Hong Kong. He dedicated 32 years to the Hong Kong Police Force, culminating in his role as Chief Superintendent and earning the Police Medal for Meritorious Service. Following his retirement, he transitioned into the private sector as a senior executive at a major land development company, where he was responsible for managing private security operations.

Dr. LEUNG Tak Man – Associate Professor of Practice

Associate Programme Director of the BA in Criminology and Criminal Justice

Dr. Leung Tak Man specializes in drug treatment, rehabilitation, and social reintegration. His evidence-based approach to criminology education promotes prevention, justice reform, and public awareness through interdisciplinary learning and research.

Dr. SO Moon Tong – Adjunct Associate Professor

Dr. So Moon Tong holds a PhD, MPhil, M.SocScs., and LLM from the University of Hong Kong and is a Chartered Statistician. With over 40 years of experience in tertiary education, he has served as a research officer with the Hong Kong Police Force and held academic positions at various universities. His areas of expertise include criminology, gambling studies, research methods, and data science. A passionate advocate for lifelong learning, he is currently pursuing a Master’s degree in Cybersecurity at the University of West London (UK).

Dr. WONG Kwong Hing, Gilbert – Adjunct Assistant Professor

Dr. Gilbert WONG served in the Hong Kong Police Force from 1993 to 2021, retiring as Chief Superintendent. With a PhD in Behavioral Science and FBI Academy training, he was appointed as a Life Honorary Consultant of Police Negotiation Cadre (PNC) and Police Carelinks Cadre, and appointed as an Honorary Hong Kong Police College Advisor. He also received the Police Medal for Meritorious Service. He now leads mental health initiatives as CEO, specializing in crisis negotiation, conflict mediation and holistic wellbeing.

Mr. LI Hin Wah, Sherman – Senior Lecturer

Sherman Li used to work for a refugee project in Hong Kong under UNHCR and several media organizations, including Dow Jones Newswire, CTN (Chinese Television Network, Taiwan), and the BBC in London.
He received his Master degree (LLM) in International Law from Peking University.

Mr. LIU Shing Bun, Ricky – Part-time Senior Lecturer

A Former Police Senior Superintendent with profound experience in strategic management and operation. Possesses rich knowledge in teaching and training, criminal investigation and leadership. Holding a master degree of Public Administration and was invited as a Visiting Fellow for the Australian Institute of Police Management.

Mr. LAM Wai Keung, Ronald – Part-time Senior Lecturer 

Former Police Station Sergeant with over 40 years of frontline experience. Served five years as Training Officer at the Police College, specializing in staff development, leadership, crisis management, and problem solving. Frequently commended for excellence.
