Hong Kong, June 12, 2026 — The Department of Journalism and Communication at Hong Kong Chu Hai College, in collaboration with the Hong Kong Association for Educational Communications and Technology (HKAECT), successfully organized a three-day international conference titled “EdTech: Revolutionising Education Through Technology” from June 10–12, 2026.
The conference brought together 45 scholars from the United States, Mainland China, and Hong Kong, with more than 100 participants attending both onsite and online.
The event commenced with welcoming speeches by Dr. Wendy Chan, President of HKAECT, and Professor Robert Li, Associate Vice President (Academic & Research) of Hong Kong Chu Hai College.
Five distinguished keynote speakers from prestigious institutions shared their insights:
- Professor John Curry, President-Elect of AECT (USA)
- Professor Fung Kam Wing, Dean of Faculty of Arts and Social Science, Hong Kong Chu Hai College
- Dr. Anna Tso, Head and Associate Professor, Department of English, Hang Seng University of Hong Kong
- Professor Li Yan, Director of Curriculum and Learning Sciences and Director of the Research Center for AI in Education, Zhejiang University, China
- Dr. Wong Chi Hung, Associate Professor, School of Arts and Social Sciences, Hong Kong Metropolitan University
In addition, three faculty members and one undergraduate student from the Department of Journalism and Communication presented their research findings.
A special symposium, “New Wine in Old Bottles: A Discussion on Popular Culture”, concluded the conference with contributions from media and academic experts:
- Miss Lam Ho Yan, Senior Reporter, HoyTV
- Dr. Lin Ka Chun, Lecturer, HKU Space-PLK
- Mr. Pui Ho Fai, Lecturer, Hong Kong Shue Yan University
To recognize outstanding contributions, two Best Paper Awards were presented:
- Dr. Frankie Har – Best Faculty Paper
- Mr. Eric Chui – Best Student Paper Both recipients received certificates and a pair of the latest design earphones.
The conference concluded with a luncheon at the Gold Coast Hotel, where Dr. Wendy Chan, HKAECT Presidet, expressed gratitude to the organizing committee and participants for their dedication and contributions.
This international gathering highlighted the transformative role of technology in education and reinforced Hong Kong Chu Hai College’s commitment to fostering global academic exchange and innovation.

Dr. Olivine Lo, Assistant Professor of Journalism and Communication, Hong Kong Chu Hai College presented the Best Student Paper Award to Mr. Eric Chui.




The Symposium on “New Wine in Old Bottles: A Discussion on Popular Culture” has invited three media industry and academic experts to share their insights on the last day of the conference. They are Miss Lam Ho Yan, HoyTV senior reporter, Dr. Lin Ka Chun, lecturer of HKU Space-PLK, and Mr. Pui Ho Fai, lecturer of Hong Kong Shue Yan University.
